River Liffy looking East
Day 2 of my works visit to Dublin. After the long days travelling on Monday, I finished work on Tiesday at a reasonable time. So, after checking in with home, I set off out with the camera and tripod for a few shots. After some deliberation, I chose this stitched panorama of the River Liffey looking East. In the distance is the Samuel Beckett Bridge, which was designed by Santiago Calatrava, and was built in Rotterdam by the same company that built the London Eye. The bridge was built in 2009 and was transported from Rotterdam to Dublin in May of that year.
More on the Samuel Beckett here.
Also in shot is the Jeanie Johnston Talll Ship. This isn't the original ship, but a replica of the original. Further in is the Convention Centre Dublin and finally, the Big Wheel of Dublin. Okay, its not as big as the London Eye, but its location offers great views of Dublin and its port. I did plan to have a further look around Wednesday, but an extra long day at work soon put paid to that.
So, lots to take in about this blip. I did have a few problems getting a decent focus, but I hope you like it.
