pirate party

this morning, after a rather lazy and long-winded start to the day, we received a phonecall "shall we pick Shisha up too, she's going to the party isn't she?" cue utter panic on my behalf (for four and a half seconds)....oh yes, that birthday party that I knew I would forget all about even as I wrote it into the family diary...luckily we had a present in the stash suitable for an 8 year old boy and she was sent off clean and brushed and armed with wrapped up boomerang just in time and we didn't have to admit to total incompetence at all.
Not long after that, the other two were invited to go along to the leisure centre and Mr. Spitzi went off to watch volleyball which meant that I went rapidly from "having a quiet family day" to "on my tod what shall I do". Luckily I decided to do sweet F-all, not even being tempted by the ironing or the pile of stuff by my desk that still needs sorting out. I managed to waste a few hours before a few people turned up again, one holding a treasure chest....
one important email to send off still tonight (waiting for Mr. S's approval and blessing) and then it will be wine o'clock.
