Ladybird jeans
After a foggy and misty start the afternoon became beautifully warm and sunny so I sat outside with a book. While sitting on the bench I was bombarded with ladybirds of differing quantities of spots and the black as well as the red. This specimen sitting on my jeans is an Adalia 2-punctata or Two-spot. Apparently there are 40 different species here in Britain and some fly over from the Continent. They can bite but are useful in the garden for eating aphids. They are poisonous to birds.
The contractor has come to drill the seedcorn and T is busy in the fields. N has gone to Bristol.
