Was at the match today. Great win for The Toon. Good hat-trick from Demba Ba. Weather was lovely. What more could a Newcastle fan want on a Saturday afternoon.

My photo shows " my " safety steward - I think of him as " mine " as I always sit near him ( I like to be in the front row ). Yohan Cabaye is about to take a corner.

**** Update from Neil He spent 19 hours on a bus then went " tubing " apparently this is when you sit on a giant inner tube and get dragged around by a boat. According to Neil " It was really good fun. A few injuries sustained on the way, but all in all we're ok. Another long bus ride back to Bangkok. Went to the Golden Temple. On our way to ko tao in about a hour for some parties and island hopping for a week, so will be a bit more chilled."

Not too keen on hearing about injuries - even though he says they are all OK. Neil's idea of being OK might be that someone only has a broken arm!.

UPDATE ON NEIL11pm

Just had a phone call for the father of one of the girls who is on the trip with Neil. His daughter and Neil have both been to hospital today. His daughter had a bite on her foot which was infected - she had it treated and is OK. Neil ( apparently ) has a badly bruised back - no doubt caused by the " tubing ". He is supposedly OK. They had to pay for the treatment so now it's up to us parents to sort out the insurance claims. Neil has only been gone for 9 days --- hope this is the only thing that goes wrong as my nerves won't stand it. Late night phone calls from strangers aren't good.
