Without Malice

Raise a Glass

It's a funny old thing, this life. Today I met with old friends as we celebrated the life of a unique man. The music had been chosen by him, and the stories told were told of his loving of life, friends, and family.

We are lucky to have our lives touched by good people, lucky to see beautiful things. But increasingly, as I age, I have more and more of these days, cocktails of happy memories and grief, and it's hard to think of luck.

Tonight I sit with a wee dram, and think how lucky I am. Raise a glass to those we miss.

And you drink and you drink till you're drunk on the joy of living! Farewell, Sandy.
