While on my runs

By waipushrink

Welcome to lunch

I took the opportunity to have a daytime run today, and as I went along Jervois Road in Herne Bay I noticed this well patronised cafe, Five Loaves. A long time ago when we had our villa at the far end of a road just a few tens of metres away from this point, this shop was our local butcher. He was a typical old time butcher; cuts done for the customer at the time more often than not.

By the time we left for the apartment, he had gone and his replacement added value (and therefore cost) to the meat he presented all packaged and ready to go. Over time he transitioned to become much more of a deli than a butchery.

Now the final stage of development; it has become a cafe.

Just before I took this picture the woman standing had been warmly greeted with a hug by the man she is beside. Her companion had entered the cafe.

I apologise for the slightly soft appearance; I did rush the shot a little so as to not appear too intrusive.
