Lifes Rich Tapestry

Whitby Abbey

Bram Stoker knew a thing or two about atmospheric gothicness. In Whitby he found his inspiration (no doubt over some fish and chips) when writing Dracula. The book has been read by generations and has been frightening cinema audiences for years.

You can see what attracted Stoker to the Abbey and to Whitby. You half expect Messers Lugosi, Lee and Oldman to swoop on some unsuspecting visitors to give them the fangs for the memories whilst taking a major bite out the passing tourist trade.

Whitby is also famous for its fish and chips ... and like all the vampires ... we all have our favourites ... I wonder what Captain Cook would have made of it all?
