Steam Punks & Blip Meets

My first four way today people with Thehutch, Barbies World and Looking For Love. Really great day as it was Lincolnshire Heritage Weekend which meant all my favourite attractions were open free. Further to this, the Steam Punk Festival 2011 was taking place at Lincoln Castle.

Steam Punk is a form of speculative fiction made popular in the late 80's and early 90's. It is a 'sort' of victorian punk, although much of the subject matter comes from the writings of HG Wells and Jules Verne.

What it means in real terms is this: a lot of people dressed up in pretty sorted costumes. I managed to get this group photo of a 'wedding party' after thehutch had gone, so thought it the only safe blip to avoid clashes. Next year? I've already priced up a top hat and some cool flying goggles.

I have to apologise as I am not able to comment at all at the moment. Thank you though for the continued favourites, something that I really am proud of. This week is really interesting, contrasting German culture and English culture.

Did you know that on mainland Europe Beans for breakfast is a big no no? They don't ever have a chip butty as 'chips in bread' is considered a taboo? I won't even get started on spirits: they actually taste them rather than throw them down the hatch until one pukes.

I know one thing though: the Germans and the English both like a good castle full of people dressed in Victorian style punk garb.
