We will remember...

Things have been a bit "sober" here in New York State lately. Many folks have seen their homes destroyed by floodwaters and I even heard a man was killed as he was bailing water from his basement when the house collapsed. Our area is fine, but with the heavy rains from Hurricane Irene, then Tropical Storm Lee, folks in central and eastern New York are having a tough time recovering.

On Sunday, the United States remembers the events of September 11, 2001, as it is the tenth anniversary of the day. We have been hearing news stories about this and it seems everywhere, there are discussions about 9-11.

To say that there is a "heaviness" in the air is not a stretch, but seeing a small patriotic display such as the one above just gives one a sense of hope...still, we will remember. We remember those who died in the attacks, those who responded and wound up giving their lives, and mostly, we remember those left behind....
