Hare, Lifeless.

I thought long and hard about posting this. I'm not usually sentimental about wildlife, but seeing this beautiful creature lying dead by the roadside today really moved me. It had obviously met its end very recently as it was still in good condition, but up there on the moorland road, I don't expect it will be long at all before the scavengers move in. And quite right too. That's the way nature operates. If I had chanced by later, it would not have been a pretty sight, but at the moment I captured here, it looked beautiful and serene.
