Bank Holiday Stroll

After we'd all decided to have a lie-in this morning it was time to decide what to do today. We weren't able to go too far as hubby was on call so after a choosing a few possibilities, we opted for popping down to the Glamorganshire Canal which was only 15 minutes away.
As usual it was lovely and peaceful down there with only a few people out and about walking their dogs, cycling or running. A few birders were in the 2 hides that are down there but not much bird activity for them to see. The usual ducks were there and took a couple of shots of a mummy Coot and her chick.
Hubby had a little accident and slipped into the water which made us laugh hysterically! Had to walk the rest of the way back to the car with his right leg sodden all the way up to his knee!!
Once back at the car, we decided to go on to Castell Coch for a little stroll around there too.
We wanted to go in to the fab cafe thats in the castle but because there was an event on we would have had to pay the castle entrance fee too so decided against that!
When we got home I got on with dinner, courtesy of one of Gino D'Acampo's recipes;Spaghetti Poveraccio. And boy, it sure was tasty! Never cooked with anchovies before!!
