Life in Tr26

Waiting patiently by the river................

It's a bit of a sad day in our house.

Our oldest springer Daisy has liver disease and has gone downhill rapidly over the last 2 weeks. We are all heartbroken and feel we are playing a waiting game - we want her with us, but not if her life has no quality.

If it hadn't been a bank holiday I would have taken her to the vets today but am going to leave it now until tomorrow. It was because of this (and the beautiful weather ) that we decided to take the dogs out somewhere nice with happy memories , so we went to the nearby village of St Erth to the riverbank.

My hubby and I agreed that if Daisy looked interested when we produced the collars and leads then she could come but if she wanted to stay here and rest then that would be fine too. We were very happy that she felt able to join us and she had a wonderful time sniffing, paddling and running very slowly.

It was Mutley the puppy's first visit to the riverbank and he loved it - he caused a few hair raising moments with somw very adventurous diving and swimming but a great time was had by all.

Maddie , the middle springer would be happy anywhere with a stick or a ball to fetch, and this photo is of her looking very soggy but eagerly anticipating the next throw!

Back at home, Daisy has once again collapsed into sleep..........I don't want to think about tomorrow, but am glad that she has had a good time today.
