Deep, and Wide, and Tall
Always go camping with a Scout.
They are so bloody prepared!
This vision of heaven made me giggle all thru breakfast.
We might only have had an overnighter; but we had supersonic petrol stove on which fresh coffee was brewed for me. I had an assortment to choose from, and a selection of sugars to use. Fresh milk was also available.
Then a frying pan was magicked out of his bag. And a tiny little bottle of oil. Bacon and potato scones were fried up, and served with sachets of my choice of red or brown.
Another cup of coffee, and a demonstration of all his "important" camping essentials followed.
Tent dismantled in less than 15 minutes and we were ready for the off.
Another trip thru my heart land , and on to Loch lomond, where, quite interestingly, we ran into an accident on the one bit of road where neither horse nor hound could move past any vehicle.
Two lanes of traffic, one up and one down sat for an hour whilst we waited the arrival of two ambulances, two fire engines, two police cars, and above, the helicopter.
I spent a while talking to a nice farmer who was transporting his newly purchased sheep home from market. Si watched fascinated as everyone proclaimed themselves first aiders, and "assisted". Men donned yellow hi-vis jackets; quite why we don't know because traffic wasn't going any were.
I counted at least 15 men having a pee within eye sight of me. And I waved to the Maid of the Loch 4 times.
Eventually they realised there was no where for the helicopter to land. The fire engines were excessive, and only one ambulance would do. There then followed quite a lot of pushing back the traffic til the ambulance could leave with the casualty, and the fire engines could manouver a three point turn, before we managed to get moving again.
Now we are just tired, but we've showered, we're going to eat and have an early night :-)
