Here is your throat back, thanks for the loan

Whilst out for a sandwich at lunchtime today, I thought I might see what was entertaining the crowds on the plaza by the Galleries on the Mound.

The acrobatic couple were indeed acrobatic.

But they had nothing on this guy. A real proper, genuine sword swallower. And a Scottish one too.

Difficult with only one picture to convince that he had swallowed a whole sword, but take it from me, there is 2 1/2 feet of steel inside this guy's throat, which must reach damned near to his stomach. What if someone had tickled him, or he had coughed? As I looked around me at the crowd, a surprising number of them of them were swallowing......
