Disparate Housecats of Daytona Beach, Episode 31
What They Say about Purrsian Rugs Is True Mostly The fantasy about flying carpets is only a myth to humans. Purrsian cats who had enslaved the nomadic Qashqai of southeast Iran developed the ability to levitate above a carpet in the 10th century. von Däniken notes in his extensively researched The Space Cats Revealed "The cats instructed the women of the tribe to create tiny intricate patterns as flight paths to guide their learned cat-masters during excursions into the mystical realm of levitation. But to assume that it is the carpets that fly would be just silly."
Mirl and Sidd bought the instruction manual off the internet from Pamuk, a Turkish Water Cat, who had smuggled the ancient text out of Kerman, clawed his way to the coast and swam the Strait of Hormuz to Oman with it delicately clenched in his teeth to keep it dry. Mirl suspects the story is pure catBay bullshit, but he admits the instructions work. Sidd is just beginning to test his abilities, but Mirl has already mastered them. Paws outstretched to mimic Supercat, Mirl can gracefully glide about the room. Napping while levitating is easy. But it is dangerous in this household since cat slave, to give it a good shake outside, might pull the rug out from under them. Poor, poor pussies - so misunderstood.
