Tinned sunshine
An amazing coincidence, I had just finished the last of the Spanish oil today. I washed the tin musing on what use I could put it to. (It seems such a pity to throw beautiful tins like this away, I could easily develop a tin fetish!) Then there was a knock on the door and my neighbour came with another lovely tin of olive oil from Greece this time, where they have been holidaying for the last 2 weeks. (We have been on hen and kitten duty.) She says next year they will go to Italy so I can have a third country in my collection.
I did envy her her tan, I'm afraid the family are going to feel a dramatic change in temperature. We have had another mixed day of 'spots' of sun but mostly grey skies and some torrential downpours this afternoon.
We went to shop in Thirsk this morning and it took me till lunchtime to realise it wasn't Saturday! Spent all afternoon chopping beetroot and other stuff to make chutney from a new recipe. Must go and bottle it - surely it must be ready by now.
