Rainy Days and Puddle Jumping

This isn't quite what I had planned for today but when I discovered the milk had gone sour it necessitated a trip down to the shop! Ben was JUMPING with excitement when I said we were going to get wellies and raincoats on and take the umbrella out with us to go puddle jumping down to the shop.

He thought it was hilarious to get his head wet with the rain so spent a fair while swinging the umbrella around instead of holding it over his head, then I offered to carry the brolly for him so he could just run and jump and splash in the puddles.

He loved it!

On the way home we had a minor hiccup, he discovered the rainwater gullies that take the water off our roofs and send it down towards the roads. At the bottom of some of the garden walls there are little outlets for the rainwater and Ben decided that this would be a good place to stop and "wash" his hands and welly boots. And then like it SO much that he would completely ignore me... he ended up being dragged home as I was getting grumpy from lack of food.

Grumbliness ensued from the both of us but once he was changed out of his wet clothes into his bee suit (we were watching "Bee Movie" again) and I was in my slobs as well and eating finally, harmony was restored.

He's gone for an early nap now so once this is done I'll be getting cakey stuff ready! Ben's gran sent him some funky bug cake moulds and I've promised Ben some chocolate cakes - here's hoping I can muster up the motivation to make them now!

PS Thankyou to everyone who said I was gorgeous yesterday - I wasn't angling for compliments!! Sometimes that's life though isn't it, you feel rubbish and need to remind yourself that it's just a ... well ... blip ;)
