Gorgeous

Two reasons for this picture: firstly, because I can't use any of the other pictures I took today because Ben and his friend are both butt naked in them bouncing on a trampoline and as funny as they are they really don't need to be seen by the wider world!! Secondly, I deliberately chose this mug for my hot chocolate this evening because I simply don't feel gorgeous right now - and it was deliberate because I know that there are people who believe that I am, and are wonderful enough to remind me that I am :) and I love them for it.

Ben has been annoying a typical toddler today. He has been cocky on his bike and riding off and not stopping when told and making me run after him to stop him riding into the road and needed telling off quite firmly, followed shortly after by an even bigger telling off involving a fifteen minute cuddle at the side of the road before he stopped telling me he was still crying and therefore couldn't possibly get back on his bike. He has exhausted himself bouncing on the trampoline to the point where he didn't want a nap because he was still buzzing, followed by the inevitable crash and whingeathon just before dinner.

I went out after dinner and left him with Steve to bathe him and put him to bed (he SO needed a bath after two lots of suncream, a liberal covering of sand, not getting very clean in the paddling pool, and a lot of sweatiness from bouncing on the trampoline in the sunshine) and he went to bed easily and quite early! And I had a much needed break from my shouty-mummy-ness to spend a few hours with a good friend, chatting and praying. Just what we both needed I think.

Back home and all chores that we can be bothered with are done and now it's time for bed. Mummy and Ben day tomorrow, painting and baking are on the agenda (as is finally sorting out child tax credit which I have promised my friend that I will do!) as the weather forecast is miserable. At least the plants will get a good watering....

A good chat, a cry, a pray, a hug, a hot chocolate and my bed - the world will feel brighter tomorrow despite the rain!
