A Lazy Sunday
Sometimes you need to just sit around and do nothing. My wife says I do it too much. A Sunday afternoon nap is just what the doctor ordered.
I had to get up at 7:00, and set up chairs at church. We had to return at 9:00 to run the sound board. A chicken salad at the local grocery store for lunch, and then it was beddie-bye. I got about an hour-hour and a half- and that was enough. I was ready to face the world again.
I wanted to take a kayak ride, but it's 93 outside. I wanted to take a walk, but it's 93 outside. I wanted to turn cart-wheels across the lawn, but it's 93 outside. Maybe I'll sneak over later to the state park, and take a swim. Yeah...that's the ticket. A little exercise with a little refreshing jolt of water.
I read a few chapters of my book(The Green Mile), watched a little golf, made a handful of buttermilk biscuits, and now have two small blueberry-rasberry cobblers in the oven. I hope they taste as good as they smell. Not a good day to cook. It's 93 outside.
Wandered out into my back yard. The tomatoes are also struggling in the heat, but are not looking too bad. I hope to get a few. I won't eat them unless they're cooked in something, but my dad and my sister like them. I have to watch my sister. She likes fried green tomatoes, and these are pretty green.
