We have been waiting a long time

for this moment....

Somehow when we go on holiday we have managed to get the children onside which means that excitement begins to swell weeks if not months before our departure. Our luck has even extended to the fact that the stop off locations on our now quite familiar trip to France are so well defined that there is major disappointment if there is any change to the plan.

Today was not bad, with an exceptionally judicious use of music, films and stories we got there without difficulty, a spin at the beach before heading to the ferry. Busy closing the windows, click, a rear window slowly slides down and cannot be closed. Nice start to the holidays. It WILL NOT get us down.

A very mixed bag of temperatures between a cool Edinburgh where we left at 6:50am and some sunny hotspots on the way down but the best was probably the beach side
