Skydiving

21months 2days

I used to look after 3 boys. From before there were three and was in fact only 1. Boy3 loved it when I used to make him fly on my feet. He decided he was skydiving, because he knew I did it and he wanted to. Now Katie loves doing it too, and it makes me think of the boys each time.

I've loved today. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy looking after the boysmy friends' kids, and love them dearly. But Katie has totally adored having a Mummy day and I have adored having a Katie day; I was giddy-excited about it last night! We got up fairly early. Katie played like it was going out of fashion this morning, she had everything out. She's played dolls for hours, had her treasure bags out, we've read piles of books, a singalong video. We spent almost an hour in the bath (that wasnt in the plan; I was having a quick shower on my own. Katie thought differently).

We were running a little late by the time we got to swimming, so were hurrying along and Katie was very pleased to bump into Ava and her daddy, doing the same. She enjoyed the first bit of the lesson, and really loved swimming around. But she wasnt a fan of doing the dive practises that Sarah wanted them doing. She just wanted to be off today! Mind you, Sarah kept saying "dont worry if they dont want to, they're only 2 1/2". Katie and Ava aren't even 2 yet, so I didnt feel too bad! After the teaching bit, she had a great time hurling herself off the floaty mat. Then her and Bobbobs spent ages in the shower, and then chatteing to each other through the changing rooms.

I took her into town for lunch and a few jobs. Several friends had mentioned the fabulous reductions in the Clarks sale. And I was very excited to discover they had a pair of shoes that fit Katie - for £4! I was less excited when I later realised that at some point after that we'd lost one of the sandals Katie had taken off to try the shoes on and refused to put on after, wanting to be barefoot instead. Irritatingly, when i went to buy some more of the sandals (the only non-welly shoes she will wear, and ideal for on the beach/in the sea, where we're heading next week) I discovered they have put them up by 50%. Our £4 shoes seemed less of a bargain then! Oh well! We had ice cream together, helps all ills be forgotten.

We've had a bit of a walk, lots of more playing, and lots of Katie being a enchantingly funny little bean today. As I often say, Saturdays are good!

PS It's "my"100th blip today
