No 92: Blackcap

Today we went for a walk in the White Peak - Tideswell Dale, Millers Dale, and Cressbrook Dale. Within the first few minutes of the walk, I'd got a photo of a Dark Green Fritillary, a first for me, and an addition to my butterfly blip list. What I hadn't bargained with was seeing a "lifer" of the avian persuasion, and as these little tinkers seem to have eluded me for so long, it had to be today's blip.
The weather was another mixed bag, but was fine enough for a pleasant walk through some pretty special scenery, with wild flowers being one of the main highlights, even though June is probably the best time. As the atmosphere was quite damp following recent rain, there were some wonderful smells - meadowsweet, bedstraw, pine, and even the final wafts of the wild garlic.
