POST BOX 1 ..... this could become a series .....

Spotted this a while ago on an off piste route to work, a V R; and thought I would come back some day and park up and have a look. Yes ..... it is a post box! Observational skills are obviously improving.

But ..... I remembered I had a copy of the book "Old Letter Boxes", one never knows what one may need in retirement, not that I've got there yet but I'm counting the years/days, and there on page 20 was, "an 1881 small box with aperture modified to 8 inches. The aperture was cut away and the new casing fitted in situ. Care was taken not to obscure the Royal (my capital R) cipher".

Now I don't believe this is the self same post box, but I do think mine had been modified in the same way. Whether I stop again, in the middle of nowhere with a tape measure and several very nice (large) houses overlooking the item of interest, is another matter, they may have CCTV, but I do feel a new phase of blipportunities in the offing.

Even though I have not captured my Z yet. I know where they are, it's just snapping the b*****s that's the problem!
