Before The Rains
Is a very decent film by Santosh Sivan. He's an excellent cinematographer (you might have seen his work, I expect more than a few of you have seen Bride & Prejudice). He gets a mention today because it felt like it was going to rain from the moment I got up.
And rain it did, putting the kibosh on to the plans to go to check out the storks and storklets. And it rained and it thundered and it lightning-ed and then it stopped when we got home. Curses were muttered. Until I noticed today's Blip.
This is just after rain had stopped and it looked to me as if the clouds were boiling off the hillside. It all felt very tropical and it looked lovely to me.
I watched a (not a Santosh Sivan) film last night called Omkara. It's an Indian take on the play Othello and I thought it was really good. I thought I had seen it ages ago but I must have seen something else and got it confused. Excellent performances from Ajay Devgn (who was Devgan but then he had vowel trouble), Saif Ali Khan, Naseeruddin Shah and i really didn't mind Vivek Oberoi in this. The woman were good too. I like Kareena Kapoor a lot.
