Talk of aerophones was clearly a step too far - especially as it wasn't meant to be a guess the picture round. So anyway, today's blip is the answer to yesterdays non-quiz.
This is a Euphonium, often mistaken for a Tuba or Sousaphone. Usually a musician places his or her mouth in the mouthpiece and blows a large raspberry. I could go on about standing waves and air columns, but I don't think I should.
Using a euphonium, in many people's opinion, as a vase, is far better than playing it.
I would tend to agree.
