Spot that pigeon

It's a Wood Pigeon chick, although it does look a bit prehistoric to me. I told Emma that I had a picture of a really ugly chick and she said oh no chicks are pretty things. Then she saw the picture, she looked at it intensely and proclaimed 'that chick is very fat'. So I'll settle for fat, but it's not pretty. I see some of it's flight feathers are nearly there but it still has a lot of down on it's back and it's beak doesn't quite look like an adult bird's yet.

Apparently in some parts of England they're called Culvers, and certainly it is legal to shoot them as they're considered a pest. There are two in this nest and they're both fat because the mother, I presume has been feeding them with a 'milk' they produce and regurgitate for them.

Sorry it's a bit grainy but I had to up the ISO to get anything in the darkness of the foilage and then had to crop a lot off.
