Stormy Weather

Returned to work today, and my word the holiday is definitely over. Lots of work to do and preparation for a major presentation tomorrow. I didn't get home until 8pm - the weather was ridiculous. I have never seen such terrible winds in May. There were trees all over the road and the River Clyde had risen so much it was almost touching the foot bridges! All public transport was cancelled/delayed so I had to take a few people home from work which meant a long day for me. Really hope that our summer isn't over already.

My parents were due home from their cruise tonight, but their flight was diverted to Newcastle because of the gale force winds. Probably not helped by the ash cloud either! They were on the verge of being bussed home, when the pilot announced that the winds had calmed and he would fly them from Newcastle to Edinburgh after all.
