Abracadabra! Anniversary

Abracadabra!

We've changed scenes. We're aproximately 150 miles northwest in Ventura, officially San Buenaventura. Our anniversary is this Sunday, the 29th. So the celebration has begun!

We left the house at 10:30; took the pups to a wonderful K9 boarding facility. Then to the freeway and the adventure was full speed ahead. The holiday traffic through Los Angeles was a little stop and go, but over all the journey was pleasant.

We captured the entire day in photos, but honestly, I could not decide which photo I liked best, so I used my four favorites. Two were taken by Mr. Fun and I took two. I especially like the silhouettes, but then I like them all. Oh what a dilemma! So what the heck, I waved my magic wand and made a collage!

We had "Happy Hour" at the entrance to the pier and then went into downtown to have a delicious light dinner of artisan bread, french onion soup, and another delicious beverage. As the sun went down just after 8:00 we walked onto the sand. The water's edge is absolutely a favorite place for the two of us.

Tomorrow has no plans. So we'll discover and adventure our way through the day having a blast, and of course, we'll check-in here tomorrow evening.

P.S. The minute we got on the freeway pointed out-of-town, our daughter sent a text. She was wondering if we were having a good Friday. We hadn't told anyone we were leaving, so I knew we were busted! I wrote her that we were having a blast because we'd had a spontaneous idea to "runaway" for the holiday anniversary weekend and were able to reserve the last kennel for the pups at a nice place, so we were down-the-rabbit-hole and gone! Woohoo! She was surprised, and also delighted for us. So our escape is no longer a secret. ;-)
