1-2-3-4-5 once I caught a fish alive

Well not quite, but she did see jellyfish, crabs, a tiny starfish, some very large razor shells and lots of other stuff on the beach at Formby. The children used the razor shells to dig and draw in the sand. Who needs plastic buckets and spades?

Our walk started in the woods and ended up on the beach. We took a picnic stop whilst in the woods and spotted all sorts of wildlife in there too. Unfortunately, we didn't get to see any of the red squirrels. They probably saw us and skedaddled.

The weather was damp and grey when we set off from home, but by the time we reached Formby Point it had faired up quite a bit.
