Uncertain Emotions

Vamoos!

Well, I did it!

My luggage is somewhere between Heathrow and here and may never be seen again, the chocolates I bought in Lima were accidentally left in either Heathrow or Sheffield and Elvis (the cat) appears to have gone missing, but I'm back. I also have numb toes, swollen ankles, a few bites and feel wonky after breathing airplane/airport air for most of the last 2 days (return journey took 33hours!)

It was amazing, tough, high, hot, fun, scary, stunning, exhausting, breathtaking and absolutely worth doing. I amazed myself by finishing each stage near the front of the group (not sure whether that means I'm fitter than I thought, or the others were just less fit than I'd expected!)

One of the group spent the whole trip in hospital after getting altitude sickness on the first day in Cusco, but the rest of us made it all the way to Machu Picchu.

This blip is the back of a t-shirt I bought from the crew that guided us and it's one I'll wear with pride :-) I'll slowly sort through the photos and fill in the gaps over the next week or so.

It'll take me a while to get round to your journals - I've only just logged on, but I was shocked and saddened to hear of Molly's sudden death. It certainly puts things into perspective.
