Castellation

Well, here's Edinburgh Castle. View from the Castle Terrace carpark after leaving the Filmhouse this evening.

After yesterday's photo of Dunbar from the beach, this is another scene I've taken 100 times and not blipped. So, it turned out OK tonight and here we go.

What else today? Pugsley. Pugsley. Pugsley. I'm now determined to sell my bikes and buy a Pugsley. Where I live, there's little point in mountain bikes with suspension and gears so I ride a rigid singlespeed with huge tyres. That's OK but with a Pugs you get a bike that has truly enormous tyres - 3.7" wide. Ho, yus. Float over soft sand, snow and mud. So, that's my new goal.

I went to the Filmhouse tonight and had to choose between "Archipelago" (2010) and "Never Let Go" (1960). Well, I'd read about "Never Let Go" and I thought it sounded great. And I'd seen the trailer for "Archipelago" and I thought it sounded totally miserable and I'd go for the old film. I said this to the guy on the desk, and he told me that as usher he'd seen "Archipelago" 6 times - and I'd made the right choice! He laughed behind his hand as I was frank about films I hated, not really the thing to do in this cathedral of film. Well, that was cathartic anyway ;)
