The Grand Canal at The Rialto, Venice

This is a 3 frame Photomerge done a few minutes ago after a long day walking and looking and learning. The Rialto, I had been warned by one of my brothers would be a disappointment. He was right. It is nothing more than an over hyped, over commercialised rip off. Rialto Bridge is to the right of this scene but is so ugly I have decided not to show it at all. Tomorrow we hope to see St. Mark's Square and surroundings and take in a Vivaldi concert in the evening.


Edit............Friday a.m. Lest you guys get the wrong side of the story, I didn't mean to imply that I am disappointed with Venice at all, merely the Rialto Bridge which is a really tacky place, full of cheap (mostly Chinese) junk. The rest of the city is totally top class and beats Barcelona where we last visited, totally out of sight. As you guys have said, the backwaters and laneways are wonderful. We have been here a day and a half and haven't gonr near St. Mark's Square yet. This afternoon perhaps.
