Repeat appearance

This is a repeat blip of the lovely orchid my granddaughter gifted me with last week. Today I was experimenting with macro and manual settings, and doing indoor blips for obvious reasons. The blossom is still looking good, and the only care required (according to the directions that came with it) is displaying it in indirect light and watering it with three ice cubes each week. Even I can handle that.

However, when I blipped it last Tuesday, placing it in front of a black background and using flash, it looked orange. Today in natural light in a natural setting, it looks much more, well, natural. That is, the color on the screen is quite close to the color of the flower. Obviously I have much to learn about using the flash. Most of my blipping is done outdoors, so I haven't had much practice in using the flash except for a little fill flash. The learning curve is gigantic! It is also challenging, but fortunately it is fun.

Pouring rain here at the moment and the temperature is in the mid-forties. Bleurgh! Where is spring? I have had enough of this miserable, wet latent spring. It's hard to remember what the season actually is...or should be anyway.
