I am learning to eat in a low glycemic manner. This is HARD! So my blip today shows my attempts at new things!! Yesterday I cooked pearl barley for the first time--it is amazingly good, especially with a chicken stir fry over the top with lots and lots of vegetables in the stir fry.

Today I am making 15 bean soup! I've soaked the beans, they are cooking now. I will add the veggies in a while, and hope this adventure turns out edible.

The spaghetti squash I grew in my garden last year. When stored until spring, they are sweet and full of flavor. I have 2 left. They will be on tomorrow's menu.

The avocado and tomato are some of my favorites. They are some of my standbys.

The blue bowls I inherited from a dear friend when she moved countries! They remind me of her! She has been my inspiration in many things--especially hard ones. It is good that I use them as I try to learn this new way of eating.
