Gie's Peace!
There's no doubt that age has certain advantages, not many but a few.
I've come to this conclusion after a day spent in the company of two 2 year olds and a baby of 12 weeks.
I hadn't realised before today the quality of my ME time.
Today I had none and together with the daughters it has been a non stop entertainment and containment regime from early morning for all of them.
We have fed them, played in the park with them, encouraged them to have a nano second's afternoon nap and wiped up after them.
Now I have crept away to prepare the supper and surreptiously post my blip, but I can hear the mayhem going on upstairs.
I can't help feeling glad that as a Granny of a certain age, I am allowed to sit down on occasion, even if I have to hold a baby likely to puke over my shoulder.
But it has been a glorious day with blue skies, puffball clouds and sunshine. I can also report that it was almost balmy in the park at Saltaire where I can't remember seeing quite so many toddlers running about.
We managed a visit to Salts Mill which is a wonderful gallery and retail space and must appear so different from the dark satanic mill days, even if Titus Salt was an innovator of much better working conditions for his workers.
My blip is of the cricket ground in Saltaire, constructed for the mill workers and part of the long tradition of Yorkshire Cricket.
I should sleep soundly tonight. I only hope the children do likewise.
