Flapjacks

Well I wasn't expecting that! First flapjacks I've made in years (when they always tend to fail, you kinda give up on them) because I really just fancied flapjacks this morning. And they worked, even though I was photographing the effort! That also seems to have a negative effect on my cooking usually ;) Ben watched as the butter and sugar melted, and gave me a hand mixing the oats in. We didn't lose too many oats.

I didn't get enough sleep last night and I can't even blame Ben.

Is it just me, or does anyone else love that time of night when everyone else has gone to bed and the only sound is the deafening hum of the fridge and freezer, and you're alone with your thoughts and the laundry....... I love it. So much that I was up far too late. And then just to frustrate me after that peacefulness, I was awake another two hours coughing! What's that about! Not impressed. SO I'm a bit tired this morning. Steve said he slept really well though. There were a couple of funny moments last night though. Just before I finally fell asleep I sat up coughing and had a drink and Ben stirred and shouted NO no want mummy NOO and then fell asleep again. And then I woke up and got the fright of my life because Ben was standing next to me on the bed. Apparently Steve had got a similar shock but Ben was sitting on his chest when he woke up!


Next stop: phone camera shop.
Then make birthday card.
Then go out to buy ham. Or something.
Then see if Ben will sleep.... Might have a sleep as well. Otherwise I won't cope with the
Birthday party!
