Reasons to visit Thirsk 5

This may be something you didn't know - neither did we till we moved into the area. What with all the news regarding the World Cup series in cricket, I thought it appropriate to draw your attention to this important figure in England's cricketing history. The museum itself is small but extremely interesting in documenting the history of rural life in North Yorkshire. I was fascinated to see some of the artefacts on display. One in particular, a knife sharpener, as I dug one up out of our garden a few years ago. It had lost all it's wooden parts and the metal was rusty but I was thrilled to have found it.
