The Desert

Sorry its been a while since i posted - but in contrast to my last post ("How the weatherman debunked the theory of evolution") here is the mirror of snow - Le Desert.
Just got back from a few days in Palm Desert visiting the in-laws and enjoying some forgotten sun. Seriously - I had completely forgotten that it even exist. So nice to to take a break from the cold dreary Portland winter. Ill post a few more in the coming days (want to pace myself) and then get back on track.
This was a shot from the final round - we had a later start than we thought and the pace of play was pretty slow so we only got 16 holes in. But the course was fantastic. One of my favorite i have played. And by "played" i mean - destroyed. The game needs some work before summer - little bit of everything i think. But golf is funny that way - for 3 days i had some decent shots, good holes and on the flip side - some embarrassing moments and outright frustrating episodes that brought me to the brink of club breaking (I would of if the wife wasnt there... damn wedge). All that being said - i left the desert with this shot you see - it was getting dark and we decided to try 1 more hole. Hit my drive into the darkness - with zero clue of destination... found it right side fairway.. hit my rescue wood for literally the first time in 3 months - no clue where it went.... found it in fairway bunker.... decided to try 1 more shot and see what happens... 9 iron from 140 in the sand.... and here you go. 3 feet from hole and birdied the par5 16th to end my weekend. You cant help but love destroying this game....
