Hi, I have the privilege to be a jewellery designer and work from home mum to my now 6 1/2 year old son. The other much loved members of the household are my husband (of course!), our 4 cats, 1 mouse and 2 fish who will no doubt make an appearance here.
I love taking pictures, capturing moments. Sometimes well and sometimes not so well but being here has helped my eye and my appreciation.
That said about the only manual bit I can do or understand is the focus!
My son was seriously ill as a baby, from 3 weeks old, ending up with 8 weeks in hospital including 10 days on a ventilator in picu followed by a tracheostomy until he was 9 months old. He was born a week overdue by emergency c section and went home with a clean bill of health. By three weeks old he was have blue spells and breathing issues which led us to the hospital stay.
He then had more problems he had severely swollen tonsils which were taken out when he was 3 because they were causing sleep apnea and breathing issues again. Hey ho.
He is now fit and well with some learning problems and orthopeadic issues but we finally havea statement in place so he gets lots of help at school. He is ridiculously bright but had trouble directing that brightness into educational channels!
We had to wait for 4 years to get him & he was the result of our 1st (v lucky) attempt at ivf. With his illness we discovered a serious genetic issue that he and I carry which indicated he was even more of a miracle than we thought! He and I are both quite normal (not that my hubby would agree) but there is a potential for major problems in any future children so for many reasons he will be an only child like me and his dad, we turned out ok I think!!
Alfie is hard work, loving, mad, hugely entertaining and the light of our lives whilst driving us totally scatty.
And one of the best subjects for photography.
I am also a jewellery designer which pops up on occasion.
