Hi I'm Nicky - now I'm 100+ time for an update maybe. I live in Manchester, more by accident than design, with Arachne (not that one) whom you will know if you do cryptic crosswords. I've been retired for some time, having been a TV producer in another life. Now I'm a serial dilettante, digging my allotment, learning flamenco guitar, losing at tennis and watching my share portfolio go up and down (mostly down). I also like bird watching but with very poor eyesight rely on Arachne to be able to spot anything.

I owe it to Arachne big time (yes that one) who told me about Blipfoto and caused me to rediscover a love for photography which goes back to the 50s and a Brownie 127. then a Kodak Retinette 1A. What I like about this Blip thing - certainly not the word, which I hate, is that the whole is greater than the parts, and the accumulating photos and text give a shape and pattern to a life not discernible on a daily basis.
I have two wonderful sons, but my personal life has been a bit of a rollercoaster so I'll leave it at that.Oh yes and having never really left Edinburgh Uni, i absolutely adore all things Scottish,  along with Andalucia and the West coast of Ireland. I am very grateful to all those who post marvellous pictures from these parts on a daily basis.
