Brain tumours kill more children than any other cancer. The researchers and doctors at the University of Nottingham are leading the way in early diagnosis and development of new treatments.
I have my own personal experience of having gone through a diagnosis and treatment for cancer but I cannot begin to imagine how it feels when it is your child going through this experience. Having met parents who have been there and learning of their untiring efforts to help their child and devoting themselves to raising awareness and funds for children's brain tumour research has been humbling and inspirational.
Riding the 1,400 miles to reach the four corners of the UK is daunting, but a much more modest journey than those taken by the children and parents for whom I am riding.
