I became seriously interested in photography surprisingly late, given my father's ever-present SLR as we were growing up. With some urging from nickynocky (no longer blipping) I started a 365 day photography project in order to improve my skills.  I've now taken and posted online a photograph a day for a decade and a bit (as I type this at the end of 2020)

My new Flickr has much betterness on it, and I'm beginning to think it's worth a look.

Shortly after I started my daily photographing, my then-4 year old daughter managed to kill my camera (a Kodak compact jobby), leaving me with only my iPhone 3G, and occasional use of my wife's Fuji compact. After some 8 months of that, my wife gave me a Lumix DMC-G10, which served as an introduction to the world of interchangeable lenses...

Oh dear...

In 2013, my lovely wife got me a Pentax K-30 for my birthday, with Sigma 30mm f/1.4 lens. And more lenses followed, and continue to follow...

My favourite lens is the HD Pentax-DA 21mm f3.2 ED AL Limited. It’s full of Pentax’ best fairy-dust, and I love the wide view.

… it *was* my "Plastic Fantastic": the Pentax DA35 f2.4. It is an utterly magic bit of glass ... and plastic. but the DA21 is just #chefskiss

Christmas 2019 brought me (well, wife did) a Pentax KP. SuPERB bit of kit.

Birthday 2020 brought me - again via wife-of-mine - an SMC Pentax-DA 50mm f1.8; the other "plastic fantastic".

Christmas 2020 brought me (that wife of mine...) the afore-mentioned HD Pentax-DA 21mm f3.2 ED AL Limited lens.
