A journal about the year I didn't spend on the river. For the last 12 years I've spent nearly all my time doing the fantastic sport of dragon boat racing (other than the time I had to spend in an office paying for it of course). I was lucky enough to meet fabulous people, compete in exotic places and win big races. I gained far more than I ever gave and will never forget the times I spent on the river or the people I spent it with. But it did take over my life.

Now I need a break, to do more cycling, photography, traveling, to spend time with friends and family and all those other things I've not done for the last 12 years. This is one of the things - a photo a day to record my year. And then who know's what........
