Settling
Ol' Lil has had a torrid time, with she and girl being away for a week. She cried for an hour or so last night when alone, which she's not done since the day we brought her home over seven years ago. Their return from up north was enthusiastically welcomed, and for them to go to bed without her was too much to bear, poor Lil.
This morning I took boy round to his mums for the weekend. She took girl horse riding, before we hit the stable shop to try out new a new riding hat. Girl was upset that her current one is the correct size, she'd set her heart on a new one.
This afternoon she watched rugby, girl wrote, read and coloured, and I took Lil on a two hour epic walk. I was reunited with nice lens, and tried for some arty shots of the wateriness and many trees, but wasn't happy with the results - I tried to push with slow shutter speeds, and the results weren't quite up to scratch. I'm learning my limits. Lil was happy, as she found a golf ball which she tossed around and brought home, sweetly, carefully placing it in a flowerpot to the side of our front door - we discourage her balls in the house because of the mess they make.
This shot is about seven fifteen, girl has had tea, and is getting ready for bed. She went out to get something, and Lil, who had been dozing on the sofa (spoilt bitch) sat up alert and concerned that they were out of sight. This snap shot (SOOC) captures that "Where're you going" look...
Weimaraners are possessive and protective. Although strong characters, they are a wonderful family dog. We love our Lil.
