Starry Night
Portraits hung in empty halls,
Frameless head on nameless walls,
With eyes that watch the world and can't forget.
Like the strangers that you've met,
The ragged men in the ragged clothes,
The silver thorn of bloody rose,
Lie crushed and broken on the virgin snow.
Now I think I know what you tried to say to me,
How you suffered for your sanity,
How you tried to set them free.
They would not listen, they're not listening still.
Perhaps they never will...

I had a bit of a play around with photographing the stars tonight also ended up getting planes coming down heading for Newark producing light trails on most of the images in the process as well.
The sky was clear but I could have picked a better night. Standing on the deck in the frozen snow crunching under my feet, crouched next to a tripod with the temp a rather crisp 15f (-9c) was not ideal. I'll try again when the snow has gone so I can get out past the gazebo frame without crunching too much ice under the little ones bedroom window. That way I'll get a clearer shot, Orion wont get his foot chopped off and I wont have worry about waking the little one so much.
Not sure yet how it will have resized on blip but the larger image on Flickr seems to have lost Orion unless you squint.
Its a start anyway. I'll come back to it and improve on it I'm sure.
