Today the police stopped dozens of passerbys walking across tram rails in the city center of Magdeburg when the signal lights were red. Many people were curious why the police stood there and did not observe the red lights themselves - so they got caught in the act.

The police must have collected at least thousand Euros as crossing the red light as passerby costs 10 Euros. In the 15 minutes I stood there they stopped at least 30 people.
