Day 6: Two years

I knew that I would hit my two years of blips at some point whilst away but due to a couple of missed blips along the road, I wasn't sure exactly when it would be. Turns out it was today. As always, a huge thank you to all at Blip Central who make this possible and to all you lovely people who post up pictures, I know I don't often have time to leave a comment but I do stop by and have a look.

Now, on with the holiday...

We didn't need to leave for our connection to the airport until around 10:20 so after a leisurely breakfast we packed up our bags, checked out and took a gentle stroll along the waterfront and back up to the bus station. As we walked to our gate at the airport I noticed a Starbucks. I ran out of soya milk a few days ago so was severely lacking in tea, could they possibly do soya milk? It turns out, yes, they did and once again I was caffeinated up and happy.

Arriving in Iceland we collected our bags and went to meet the travel representative. It was lovely to be back in a semi-permanent home at this hotel. We unpacked our bags, decided to book in for a northern lights tour the next day and then went to the hotel restaurant for dinner. The meal began with a smoked lamb appetiser, normally I would have taken one look at it, thought "Red meat? Only smoked? No way!" and handed it to The Boy. However, this holiday I have been trying to be more open with my foods and I decided to try it. I was pleasantly surprised, it was silky smooth and you couldn?t taste much other than the smoke. I also had lamb for my main and was really surprised, the meat didn?t have the strong taste of lamb that I?m used to, it was very mild and quite pleasant. We headed to bed early as it would be another busy day tomorrow.
