Day 5: Stockholm

We got to have a little lie in this morning as we didn't need to catch a bus to the airport until 10:45. After breakfast we got our bags packed and headed for a final wander and to take some more photos. We then checked out and got the bus to the airport. Finally a flight that wasn't delayed!

We arrived in Stockholm to find light snow. In Stockholm we had to find our own way to the city centre from the airport, this wasn't a problem though as there were regular buses. However as we boarded the bus and the ticket inspector said something I couldn't understand a single word of I began to panic mildly. Every other non-english country I've been to, I have been able to understand and speak a little of the language. Once we got off the bus I became overwhelmed. I don't know what I imagined Stockholm to be like but it was very different from other cities I'd been to and very, very busy. Eventually we made the mile walk to our hotel and got checked in.

The hotel room was lovely, heated floor in the bathroom, a little bag store/dressing room, posh shampoos and soaps, fluffy towel robes. The only thing it was missing was a tea tray. Yes, that's right, there was no means of making tea! Thank god we're only there for one night. Once we'd settled in we decided to head out for dinner. We'd seen a wagamama's by the bus station and there was supposed to be a lush there where I could buy some face mask to deal with the horrors that balaclavas cause to the skin. It took a lot of searching in the area that the internet said it should be but eventually we found lush inside the train station. I picked up face mask and a bath bomb for a long hot soak to ease my aching muscles from yesterday's activities.
