Moonrise over Klein Hangklip

Just in from a long day at the University of Cape Town's Summer School. Watched a spectacular sunset (no time to stop and shoot it) driving home.

Checked my e-mail and spotted this from the window as I was about to turn in. Last night was full moon and a spring tide. What a giddy time after last week's gales.

If you look carefully you'll see a number of small star tracks caught by the 30s exposure.

BTW, Klein Hangklip is Afrikaans for "Small hanging/balanced rock" - it's about 380m high. I know I went up there at 05:00 on New Years Day to drink bubbly with a group of other Rooi Elsers ;-)

The "real" Hangklip is across the other side of Pringle Bay about 2km away. Hmmm - might make a good Blip...
