Looming storm clouds

It's supposed to be summer, but if you've looked at the two previous entries, you'll know what the weather here on the False Bay coast has been doing.

Today, the wind has swung round to the NW - traditionally the wind that brings rain. And, looking at this, you'd have to say that it's only moments away.

In the middle of a sea of grey (no pun intended) a lone shaft of sunlight provides a sliver of wonderful visual relief.

As if the caprices of the weather weren't enough, we've been without power for two hours this afternoon; part of our national electricity supplier's load shedding because they don't have sufficient generating capacity to cope with demand.

This situation is causing country-wide havoc in mining, manufacturing, general industry, commence and homes as the power goes on and off like a bride's nightie. The current estimate is seven years before more generating capacity is built, on line and load shedding can be stopped.
